Take the Stage

For campers entering grades 1 - 5.

Based in Park Slope.  Drop off and pick up at all locations.

Why Take the Stage?

Your child doesn’t have to wait for someone to hand them the stage.  Let them come and take it!

Take the Stage is a camp experience for young enthusiasts who thrive on the excitement of putting together a show and performing it in front of an audience.  Through innovative, engaging activities in the performing arts and stagecraft, we  help children develop interests, talents, creative thinking, and friendships.

Both 3-week sessions will culminate in a wonderful performance and leave each child with a sense of accomplishment and joy.

An audience facing away from the camera watches the stage. On the lip of the stage sits eight campers, heads turned to look on the stage. At least ten people stand on stage in two rows; the front row is mid-dance move, the back row stands facing out.
Eleven campers in a mix of yellow Park Slope Day Camp shirts and costumes stand in front of a blue curtain, mouths open and looking off in different directions.

MAJOR IN A CHOSEN SPECIALTY

As part of the registration process, campers will apply for a "Major" for each enrolled session.  A good part of most camp days will be spent honing their craft and preparing for the gala performance.

CHOOSE A MINOR

“Minors” are elective activities and are a way for children to broaden their interests.  Campers will request a “Minor” on the first day of each 3-week session.

FOR THE LOVE OF TRADITIONAL CAMP

And there’s more.  Traditional camp activities, special event theme days in Prospect Park, and two half-day trips add variety to the session.

PERFORMANCE WEEK

The last week of each 3-week session is abuzz with excitement as we prepare to Take the Stage!  Performances will be held for PSDC groups on Thursday and for families and friends on Friday.
